HJR SOFTWARE is the oldest and best computer service company within a 60-mile radius of Belmont, North Carolina. I started my business to be here to assist individuals and companies that need to a good computer technician that they can trust and rely on to get the job done. In 2024, I am recreating my website again for the 4th time. Soon a complete list of the cities and towns in North Carolina and South Carolina to which I provide onsite computer repair services will be available. Additionally, a list of all the computer related services that I provide will show up as well. For now, here are just a few of both in no particular order.

Unfortunately, I must stress the points stated in this paragraph because too many unscrupulous people with automated dialers and bad intentions in recent years have been bothering me and it is getting worse and it affects my ability to get to nearly every call the way I use to for decades. Keep in mind that I am here to serve and assist those that need assistance with their computers. My phone number is only to be used for that purpose. If you do not have a computer related issued, DO NOT CALL ME! NEVER CALL ME TRYING TO SELL ME SOMETHING I NEVER EXPLICITLY CONTACTED YOU FIRST ABOUT. I categorically decline and disapprove of any merchant that I have done business with to share my contact information with someone else, another company, or any of their affiliates offering me anything out of the blue. NO ONE HAS MY PERMISSION to try to SELL ME ANYTHING if you didn’t hear the words come out of my mouth asking you to call me about something I want. I have been operating HJR SOFTWARE for over 33 years and I have lived long enough to know EXACTLY where to get or buy ANYTHING and EVERYTHING I will ever need, which means, I don’t need anyone to tell me about anything they are trying to sell or get me interested in. I charge solicitors, advertisers, marketers, spammers, scammers, salespeople, or anyone dialing my number, texting me, or sending me an email for non-billable computer related issues $500 per incident. I AM ALWAYS BUSY DOING SOMETHING IMPORTANT TO ME! Every call is an interruption and disruption. I am happy to take a call and be of service to anyone in need of computer related services. You will be charged $500 for interrupting me with crap that I have no interest in and doesn’t require my computer services. I DO NOT NEED ANYTHING YOU ARE SELLING. If you approach me with something that you THINK I need to know about, I will blacklist you and NEVER take an interest in your product or service. You also subject yourself to being publicly exposed, commented on, ridiculed, blocked, and charged. ONLY dial my number if you have a computer issue that you are ready for me to solve and you are prepared to pay whatever it costs to provide you with superb service to address your issues. If I am unable to answer your call, ONLY LEAVE A MESSAGE if you SERIOUSLY want me to fix your computer related issue. If you FAIL to leave a message, I will not return your call. If your message is CRAP and I identify the caller using means available to me, you will get a bill for $500 per incident. I reserve the right to accumulate such charges until they reach a sum that I feel will likely bankrupt you or your company if you persist in interrupting me, bothering me, harassing me, texting me, or filling up my voicemail box with your crap (incidentally, fines are doubled to $1000 per incident if you fill up my voicemail box and prevent another legitimate caller from being able to leave a message. If I speak to someone that tells me they were unable to leave a message because my mailbox was full, I will conclude that every caller that called since your call filled up my box was a billable client that needed my assistance, and you will be charged $1000 for every missed call that occurred regardless of who the caller was, even if it was you calling me multiple times without being able to leave a message.) 90% or more of callers dialing my number obtained that number from an internet search or an algorithm that used a bot to obtain my number. I STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT YOU ONLY CALL ME IF YOU NEED COMPUTER SERVICE. It is MY phone number and MY RIGHT to Be UNKIND to anyone calling my number for anything other than computer service.

I work on most computer equipment including but not limited to Dell, HP, Toshiba, Lenovo, Samsung, Apple, Acer, Panasonic, Asus, Microsoft, Sony, Epson, OkiData, Canon, NetGear, DLink, and even generic brands.

In recent years it has become popular for individuals to try to build their own GAMING systems. While this is a fun endeavor, it can become very costly for you if you try to put components together without following a proven and tested build. Not every manufacturer’s RAM, Video Card, or Motherboard is compatible with other brands. Sometimes, they aren’t even compatible with their own brands. Be aware that overclocking processors will get you closer to overheating situations. If you are planning to build a GAMING system for the first time, make sure you do the necessary research to be very comfortable assembling your system. I suggest that you consult a professional systems integrator or purchase a kit with all the components supplied by the same supplier who has also built that kit before and provides you with step-by-step instructions for that particular build. If you call me during your planning stage and let me know what you are considering, the games you wish to play, the number of monitors you want, and any other particular gaming accessories you wish to have, I can assist you much easier at that time. If you run into problems with an unproven build, you may become disappointed when my inspection of your equipment reveals that you bought something that is incompatible with another item you bought and during your trial and error you damaged 1 or more components that cannot be returned for an exchange, or you have to buy additional costly components. Keep in mind that RAM memory modules are the hardest item to test in the field / onsite. One reason is that there isn’t a really good device that one can purchase that will work for a majority of different types of ram chips. Therefore, carrying around a $1000 machine to try to test your memory chips is something that I do not do nor do I know of anyone else who does. To test RAM provided it physically fits into your mainboard can be done, but this too can be challenging and VERY TIME CONSUMING. I charge by the hour. So, if you have 32 GB of RAM, running diagnostics against the config might take 2 or 3 hours. You could probably by 3x the amount of RAM you have with the cost and even if you couldn’t return them, you would come out spending less buying new matching RAM than having me run 3 hours of diagnostics on what you bought the first time.

I have found myself involved with other non-computer projects on most Saturdays and Sundays so it can be hard for me to receive or answer incoming calls on the weekends. It is better to catch me during the week and if I do not have an already scheduled weekend obligation, I may be able to set an appointment for a weekend day between 10 AM and 5 PM on Saturday’s and 2 PM and 5 PM on Sunday’s. As I am getting older, I am trying to enjoy the holidays more so I probably work on less and less holidays as time moves forward. I am typically always unavailable during the first 2 weeks of June and on holiday weekends that create 3-day opportunities to get away.

Since COVID started, a lot of office workers have become work-from-home employees. HJR SOFTWARE can assist you as either the business (employer) or the employee. Even if your company has its own larger in-house IT department, many times those departments do not do field work. In other words, the IT department may attempt to repair a computer or computer-related device remotely (over the phone and/or by remotely logging into the device), but if the issue becomes too complicated, is hardware related, or requires touch by a qualified repair technician, I can work with IT Departments in all sorts of different businesses. Give HJR SOFTWARE a call and I will visit the location where the device is and coordinate repair efforts with your company’s IT department. This is even useful sometimes when the problem is not dire, but the employee is unable to follow their IT departments instructions to get a fix, upgrade, or problem resolved. I am far more likely to resolve the issue on the first visit within an hour or two at a cost less than the total cost of the employee being without their computer for several days while that computer is mailed back to the company, fixed by the IT department and then mailed back to the employee.
